On February 13th, the students of A’ Class, within the framework of the course, “Agriculture, Food and Environment,” took part in a unique and engaging exploration of the world of water. With the valuable guidance of Mr. Markellos Bachas and Mrs. Styliani Moira, representatives of the Municipal Enterprise for Water Supply and Sewerage of Chios, the students were informed about the water cycle, as well as the processes of water supply and irrigation on the island.
This initiative served as a starting point for their participation in a student competition that focuses on water resource management, giving them the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges their region faces due to water scarcity and to propose realistic solutions for the restoration and sustainable use of this precious resource.
