Our Minor C’ class students, together with the adult students of B’ and C’ classes, attended on 28th September the hybrid seminar “MARPOL 50 years: Our Commitment goes on”, co-organized by the “Maria Tsakos” Foundation and the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA), as part of the celebration for World Maritime Day.

On behalf of HELMEPA, the event was opened by the Head of Strategy and Development, Mr. Konstantinos Triantafyllou and on behalf of our Foundation and the Tsakos Group, by the Director of Human Resources and Training, Mrs Venetia Kallipolitou.

Lectures were given and presentations were made by a) the IMO representative Mr. Loukas Kontogiannis – Head of the Department for Marine Pollution, b) Mr. Anastasios Kartsimadakis – Vetting Manager and Mr. Leonidas Margetis – Director of Environmental Issues and Sustainability, both of Tsakos Shipping and Trading, S.A., and finally c) by the Maritime Law professor and our Administrative Director Mrs Tatiana Tsardaka.
