On January 23rd, presentation of a book by the Vice President of the Foundation’s Board, Mr. Georgios Anomeritis, entitled “Foreign Judges in Chios”, was held at our premises, highlighting the the study of the island’s history and institutional development. As mentioned by the author, during one of his visits to the Archaeological Museum of Chios, he came upon a dedicatory stele referencing five judges from the island of Naxos and five from the island of Andros who had adjudicated cases concerning Chian disputes over a long period of time. Upon the completion of these trials, the Municipality of Chios recorded a vote of thanks on the stele.
The Foundation donated copies of this book to all Secondary Education Schools in Chios, members of the Chios Bar Association, local media, as well as friends and interested parties within Chios, aiming to disseminate knowledge and strengthen the connection of the local community with its historical and intellectual heritage. This meaningful support is further acknowledged via a letter of appreciation from the Director of Secondary Education of Chios, Mrs. Eftychia Vlysidou.
