This quarter, we had the pleasure of hosting the exhibition, “From Stem to Stern”. The exhibition was held under the auspices and with the financial support of the Directorate of Modern Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Folklife and Ethnological Museum of Macedonia-Thrace, the Institute for Mediterranean Studies of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering of the University of the Aegean, and the company TETRAGON S.A., under the management of the non-profit organization PHILARTIA.

Through original exhibits and digital educational applications, the exhibition highlighted the Greek tradition of wooden shipbuilding – one of the most significant chapters of Greek technical culture – as well as the historical importance of sailing from the mid-18th to the mid-19th century.

The exhibition attracted students from secondary education schools in Chios, cadets from the Merchant Marine Academies of TEENS, Chios and Oinousses, as well as an audience with a deep appreciation for art.
