On April 21st, we welcomed our new students and friends. The evening celebration was a great success and everybody enjoyed the Greek music and dancing.
On occasion of “World Book Day” (April 23rd) and National Book Day in Uruguay (May 26th), our librarian, Mrs. Florencia Gutiérrez, introduced her project, “Book Month”. Through the re-arrangement of the library space, we created a lounge that facilitates the display of audiovisual material and encourages reading and interaction between the students.
On Wednesday May 24th, the Spanish Professor, member of the National Academy of Letters of Uruguay and former student of the Foundation, Mrs. Gladys Valetta, presented a speech, “Let’s talk about the origins of language“.
On June 1st, we launched the “Reading Challenge” at our library. Interested parties will be required to read 6 books of specific genres over the next 6 months. We have 29 participants, who will choose a new book every month, under the guidance of our librarian.
