Week starting September 26th our Foundation organised informative and commemorative events on the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, with speeches, musical events, and the projection of films and documentaries. The Honorary President of the Foundation, Mrs. Margarita Larriera, gave a presentation entitled, “The Catastrophe of the 1922 and the rebetiko song“, accompanied by a choir and traditional musical instruments. This was followed by a speech, “The Asia Minor Catastrophe: a look at the Greek gastronomic vocabulary“, by the Foundation’s Director, Mrs. Soraya Ochoviet and Professor of Greek cuisine, Mr. Matías Porteiro. Both presentations were a great success, and the main hall of the Foundation was filled with enthusiastic students and friends.
