On January 15^th, as part of the “Modern Greek Language” course, our School had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Dimitra Skandali, a poet and publisher of the Chian poetry magazine “Seistro”.   She spoke to the Α’ Class students on the value of poetry as an art and the lasting artistic imprint it leaves, while also providing a brief historical overview.

After presenting works from renowned foreign and Greek poets and introducing creators from Chios through selected issues of the magazine, she focused on two distinctive forms of modern poetry: Dada and Calligram.

At the same time, the students read their own poetic creations, Limericks, Haiku, Dada and Calligrams and experimented by composing poetry that combined elements of these various forms.
