One of the most important live performances of 2025 for the “Rebétika Montevideo” band took place on November 7th at the “El Chamuyo” hall for events and performances. Fourteen members of the band—musicians and singers—and a special guest accordionist presented this year’s repertoire under the guidance of our professor, Mr. Valentín Abitante. On November 17th in commemoration of the anniversary of the Athens Polytechnic uprising and the student movement’s revolt against the dictatorship. Jules Dassin’s film “The Rehearsal” (1974) was screened twice at the Foundation, for our students and friendsand was well attended.
On Friday, December 12th the “Rebetika Montevideo” band performed its last live show of the year at “Sala Ducon”. The tickets of this musical performances were soon sold, so the band renewed its appointment for 2026.
