On October 30th, students of C’ Class of our Lyceum had the opportunity to share a special educational experience by attending academic courses at the Merchant Marine Academy T.E.E.N.S.
Specifically, Professor Merchant Marine Chief Engineer Titos Koukakis presented the course Marine Engineering Systems, offering students an initial insight into the technological complexity and responsibility required in the profession of ship’s engineer.
Professor Merchant Marine Capt. Filippos Mattas taught the course COLREGS, introducing participants to the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.
This experience offered them valuable exposure to the reality of maritime studies and a better view of the opportunities that lie ahead. By attending these courses, they developed further critical thinking, acquired collaborative and observational skills, and most importantly felt closer to the world of shipping, a part of Greek identity and economy.
