On May 9^th, the students of the Lyceum 1^st Class had the opportunity to visit the impressive exhibition, “From the Aina to the Bow: Sailing Ships of the 18th and 19th Century”, at the “Maria Tsakos” Foundation. Through rare exhibits, interactive games with the use of digital technologies and rich audiovisual material, the Greek tradition of wooden shipbuilding was brought to light, marking this significant chapter of Greek technical culture.

The exhibition highlighted the crucial role of sailing ships from the mid-18th to the mid-19th century, aiming at the same time to bring the younger generation closer to our maritime heritage, hopefully cultivating a love for shipping – a sector deeply rooted in Greek identity.
